The former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, , has alleged that some executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) empowered members of their opponents, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to unseat certain NPP MPs during the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Okay FM on Thursday, March 27, 2025, the former lawmaker stated that internal wrangling within the party during their time in government became so severe that certain ministers financially supported the opponents of several NPP MPs who were seeking re-election in their constituencies.
He attributed these incidents to a lack of discipline within the party, blaming the leadership for failing to address the issues and prevent them from escalating. "There was indiscipline in our government and the leaders couldn't speak against some of the indiscipline that were ongoing.
I can say through authority that some party executives empowered some people to unseat existing MPs. "The worst-case scenario is that some government ministers went to the extent of sponsoring some NDC members to unseat NPP MPs.
