President has officially commissioned the six-kilometre Ashaley Botwe School Junction to Tema Motorway Road project to improve road infrastructure and boost economic activities in the Greater Accra Region. The road project comprises of modern service lanes on both sides, a 1.60 km Stadium Access Road, Tema Motorway slip roads, walkways, cycling lanes and lay-bys to improve safety and convenience for all road users. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Monday, August 26, 2024, President Akufo-Addo commended the contractor of the project, which was executed by Oswal Investments Limited, a well-known Ghanaian construction firm. The president said the completion of the road project symbolizes his government's commitment to delivering on its promises, adding that the government will continue to partner with the private sector to execute infrastructure projects for the good people of Ghana. "Across the length and breadth of our country, from north to south, from east to west, we are constructing roads, bridges, schools and hospitals because we believe in a Ghana that delivers and works for all. "Indeed, under my administration, we have added an unprecedented 12,830 km to the national road network," the president said. President Akufo-Addo also said that the road project aims to bridge communities, create new opportunities and enhance economic growth for all. "The project would help to alleviate traffic congestion, establish new economic corridors and promote the flourishing of businesses and communities alike," he stated.
