Educationist Professor Stephen Adei has proposed that parents who can afford to pay for their children's Senior High School (SHS) education should be allowed to do so, enabling the government to focus resources on improving infrastructure in underprivileged schools.
Speaking at the Achimota Speaks event on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Prof.
Adei highlighted that approximately 25% of Ghanaians have the financial means to cover their children's SHS fees.
He argued that allowing these parents to contribute would free up government funds for enhancing educational facilities in less privileged areas.
