Ace Anan Ankomah, a private legal practitioner, has expressed concern over the excessive politicisation of Ghana's education system, particularly the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
Speaking at the Achimota Speaks event under the theme, The Free SHS Concept: What Reforms Are Required?, Ankomah called for constructive dialogue and innovative funding solutions to sustain the policy.
According to Ankomah, the Free SHS policy, while laudable, has become a subject of intense political partisanship, hindering meaningful discussions on its improvement.
He emphasised the need for stakeholders to move beyond political rhetoric and work collaboratively to address the challenges facing the policy. "It is doable if we will stop talking at each other and start talking to each other.
