The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has expressed its gratitude to the Interior Ministry for prioritizing the purchase of new fire tenders.

This comes after Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak announced in parliament that discussions are ongoing with the Finance Ministry to secure funds for the new fire tenders, adding that it may be included in the mid-year budget review.

Speaking to Channel One News, Public Relations Officer ADO1 Alex King Nartey,  of the GNFS, indicated that the service is thrilled that new fire tenders will be purchased after nearly a decade.

He expressed hope that the tenders will be acquired on time to enhance the performance of the fire service. "We have bemoaned for a very long time that its been over 10 years since we got this kind of resourcing of fire tenders.
