After a long period of silence on political matters, former MP for Dome Kwabenya has finally addressed allegations regarding her role in the controversial Speaker of election.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, monitored by MyNewsGh, she firmly denied claims that she voted against Professor Mike Oquaye, the NPP's preferred candidate, in favor of the NDC's . "I want to make it clear that I did not vote against Mike Oquaye," Safo stated.
She explained that before the vote, she had already informed the then-Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, of her decision.
However, she accused him of betraying her by suggesting that she had supported Bagbin instead.
