President John Dramani Mahama's official X account has been restored after it was compromised by hackers earlier this week. In an update on the platform, the president's account posted, "My team has restored my account, working with the X support team.
Thank you for your enquiries and offers to assist."The breach, which occurred on Monday, March 17, had raised concerns after the account began promoting suspicious cryptocurrency-related content.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) had confirmed the hack and assured the public that it was working with relevant stakeholders, including X, to resolve the issue.
During the attack, Mahama's account was used to promote a cryptocurrency project called Solanafrica, falsely linking it to the Solana blockchain and claiming it offered seamless and cost-free payments across Africa.
