Security analyst Emmanuel Kotin has criticized the administration of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr.
George Akuffo Dampare, citing several issues that he believes weakened the police service during his tenure.
Kotin outlined a number of unpopular decisions taken by Dampare, including his approach to crime statistics, cyber security, and internal administration. "There were so many unpopular decisions he made.
Every country relies on crime statistics to plan in terms of policy, but under his leadership, the department responsible for that was scrapped, and there has not been any single crime statistic under his watch. "I think that was not good for us as a country," he remarked on 3FM monitored by MyNewsGh.
