The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, , has called on Ghanaians to elect a new government on December 7, 2024, to bring about change in the country. During the NDC manifesto launch in Winneba, Mahama criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo's administration, stating that it is "decimating democracy beyond recognition." Mahama condemned the current government for ruining families and livelihoods, forcing millions of Ghanaians into poverty. He urged Ghanaians to vote for change, saying, "We cannot fail Mother Ghana, and therefore I urge you all to vote for change on December 7th, 2024." Mahama promised that his election would end "tyranny, cronyism, corruption, and hardship" and bring about a new era of leadership. Mahama further criticized the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration, describing it as the "biggest political scam" in Ghana's history. He asserted that their promises were repackaged with empty eloquence and enticing promises that they have failed to deliver.
