President Mahama has charged newly sworn-in Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno to ensure integrity, discipline and innovation amongst his members.
The brief ceremony took place on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Jubilee House.
Delivering his address during the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama reminded the new IGP of the safety and protection of citizens required from the police service.
The President noted that the Ghana Police Service must continue to reform itself to "meet the needs of our ever-changing society". "Your appointment as IGP comes at a time when the security landscape is rapidly evolving, traditional policing methods must be adapted to confront new and emerging threats and crimes. "Your leadership must be rooted in integrity, discipline and innovation," he said.
