President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the need for stronger ties between the Ghana Police Service and the communities they serve.
Speaking after swearing in COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mahama underscored the importance of fostering trust and cooperation between law enforcement and citizens. "One critical area that requires immediate attention is the relationship between the police service and the communities it serves," he stated, highlighting his administration's commitment to a people-centered approach to policing.
Addressing officers of the Ghana Police Service, Mahama encouraged them to fully support their new leader. "To the brave men and women of the Ghana Police Service, I urge you to give your fullest cooperation to your new leader.
Your dedication and sacrifices keep our country safe," he said.
