President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) following the removal of Dr George Akuffo Dampare as the leader of the Ghana Police Service, on March 13, 2025.

Yohuno takes over leadership of the police service at a crucial time, with a mandate to strengthen law enforcement, enhance public safety, and tackle rising security challenges across the country.

In his remarks, President Mahama expressed confidence in Yohuno's ability to lead the service with professionalism and integrity.

He urged the new IGP to prioritise crime prevention, community policing, and police welfare while ensuring a more accountable and transparent force.
