Over 40 houses have been swallowed by the sea in Kelee, a coastal community in the Weija Gbawe Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, leaving residents in distress.

Coastal dwellers fear that if urgent action is not taken, the entire community could be wiped out.

Speaking to Channel One News, residents recounted how the sea, once over 400 meters away, has steadily advanced, submerging and destroying homes.

Among the structures lost is a school that previously served the community, forcing children to seek education in neighboring areas.
