Outgoing Inspector General of Police(IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare, though admired by some in the public, has a different story from within the Ghana Police Service, where he was the head.

Following his dismissal on Thursday, March 13, 2025, there was wild jubilation by both senior and junior ranks of the Ghana Police Service who were hitherto not enthused about his leadership style.

Many described him as a dictator and draconian leader, likening him to Nebuchadnezzar, Herod and even Togbe Agorkoli, the ruler of Notsie.

According to a number of them who felt liberated over his exit and posted on various social media platforms, his administration was engaged in stunts aimed at winning public sympathy whereas the servicemen and women wallowed in suffering following some decisions.
