Correspondence from Northern Region A coalition of (NPP) youth groups in the Nanton Constituency of the Northern Region has locked up the constituency office of the party in protest against the suspension of 34 NPP members in the area.
The youth groups argue that the suspensions are not in the best interest of the party and could harm its future in the constituency.
Tensions have been brewing within the party's ranks in Nanton after Constituency Chairman Abukari Inusah announced the suspension of the 34 members, including businessman and NPP financier Mohammed Saha Naa, on Monday.
The party accused the suspended members-including polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and constituency executives-of supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate instead of the NPP's candidate.
