The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo in collaboration with the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) and National Security have demolished ongoing structures being set up at the Tema ramsar site.
The demolition is part of a broader initiative to safeguard the ramsar site, which is an ecologically sensitive area.
Some property owners at the Tema Ramsar site on Wednesday, March 12 resisted the demolition exercise, despite government efforts to reclaim the encroached land.
Authorities insist the exercise will continue to ensure the land is preserved for its intended purpose.
