Miracles Aboagye, the former Communications Director of the Bawumia 2024 election campaign, has expressed regret over not ordering New Patriotic Party supporters to storm the various collation centres across the country when supporters of their opponent, the National Democratic Congress, had besieged the centres.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, monitored by GhanaWeb, Aboagye stated that he had no reason to instruct NPP supporters at the time because, during his last press conference, his party was in the lead. "At the time we held our press conference a little after 12 a.m., the NDC had already held a press conference where their Communications Officer called on NDC supporters to storm the collation centres.
In fact, we did not have a scheduled press conference at that time.
However, following their press conference, we felt the responsibility to ensure that our supporters did not clash with NDC supporters.
