The Ghana Armed Forces has announced a temporary shutdown of the Trauma and Surgical Emergency Unit at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra to undergo fumigation and routine maintenance.

The closure, which will span from Monday, August 4 to Wednesday, August 13, 2025, is part of a broader effort to uphold strict hygiene and safety protocols.

During this period, all trauma and surgical emergency cases will be redirected to Simango Ward, which has been designated to handle emergencies while the main unit is under maintenance.

The Ghana Armed Forces, in a statement issued by its Department of Public Relations, assured the public that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure uninterrupted medical services and minimal inconvenience. "We wish to assure the public that measures have been put in place to ensure continuity of care and minimise inconvenience," the military noted.
