President John Dramani Mahama arrived in Bamako today as part of his 'good neighbourliness' tour, where he engaged in high-level discussions with Mali's Transitional President, General Assimi Goïta.

The visit marks the beginning of a diplomatic mission that will also take President Mahama to Niger and Burkina Faso-three nations that have recently exited the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and formed the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

The discussions focused on strengthening regional cooperation, security, and economic ties amid the shifting geopolitical landscape in West Africa.

President Mahama's tour underscores Ghana's commitment to fostering dialogue and maintaining constructive relations with its neighbours.
