Some officers of the Ghana Armed Forces on August 18, 2025, stormed the premises of the National Children's Library at Airport to support the wife of a soldier who is attempting to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the Longest Marathon Reading Aloud (Read-A-Thon).
The officers, mostly dressed in mufti, were seen dancing and singing in solidarity with the GWR contender, Morkporkpor Fiador.
The 240-hour non-stop reading attempt by Fiador, a Ghanaian teacher with the Field Engineer 'A' Unit of the 5 Garrison Education Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces, began at 6:00 p.m.
on August 18, 2025.
