Ghana will remain locked out of upper middle-income status until after 2050 unless urgent and comprehensive economic reforms are implemented, Finance Minister Dr.
Cassiel Ato Forson has warned.
Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue, Dr.
Ato Forson painted a stark picture of Ghana's economic trajectory, cautioning that without decisive action, the country's progress would be too slow to lift it into the ranks of upper middle-income nations anytime soon. "Without comprehensive reforms, unfortunately, Ghana will only achieve upper middle-income status after the year 2050, and we cannot wait until 2050 before we become an upper middle-income country," he stated.
