General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua, holds the view that the winner of the 2026 presidential primaries in the political party will not hand-pick people he/she want to lead the party.

According to him, if the flagbearer of the party influences such decisions, then he/she is not ready to lead the party to victory in the 2028 elections. "If you want to win the 2028 election, you will need everyone on board.

You won't handpick people you want to work with and relegate others.

The others who are relegated also have supporters who will also not support the party so I don't think anyone who gets the nod to lead the NPP will do that.
