The Senior Staff Association (SSA) of the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Divisional Union of the Public Services Workers' Union of TUC Ghana have strongly opposed the purported appointment of Mr Jonathan Abdallah Salifu as the Corporate Communications Manager of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo).
In a statement issued on March 3, 2025, the leadership of the staff groups expressed "vehement objection and profound revulsion" to the alleged appointment, which they argue violates NEDCo's recruitment policies and corporate governance structure.
Their protest follows an announcement by Mr Salifu himself on Dreamz FM, a Bolgatanga-based private radio station, on February 26, 2025, where he claimed to have been appointed to the position.
The staff groups, however, insist that no such decision has been formally communicated by NEDCo or its parent company, VRA.
