Former Auditor General Daniel Yao Domelevo has raised concerns over the ongoing construction of the Hajj Village by the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL), describing it as a misplaced priority for the Mahama administration.
The Hajj Village, designed to serve as a terminal for Muslims embarking on the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, has sparked debate about the government's focus amid pressing national issues.
Reacting to how the project will be funded, the Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, noted that the taxpayer will not be burdened in the construction of the Hajj Village.
In a Facebook post on Monday, February 3, 2025, Domelevo expressed surprise and frustration over the project, questioning its necessity and relevance.
