A middle-aged woman was assaulted and paraded through a market in Nzema after being accused of using a counterfeit GHC200 note to purchase goods.
Eyewitnesses reported that traders and onlookers, including children, surrounded the woman, chanting "fraudster, fraudster" while some pushed and harassed her.
The chaotic scene unfolded as market women expressed their anger, believing she had intentionally used fake currency.
