GFA Executive Council Member, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has refuted President John Dramani Mahama's claim that the Black Stars' budget will now be made public, arguing that the statement misrepresents the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) role in the team's finances.

During his State of the Nation Address, President Mahama assured Ghanaians that moving forward, the national team's budget would no longer be kept secret, as it involves taxpayers' money.

However, in an interview with Connect 97.1 FM, Oduro Sarfo clarified that the GFA does not control the Black Stars' finances.

He explained that while the association prepares and submits a budget, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is solely responsible for its approval and disbursement of funds. "The President has been misled in making that statement.
