Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has defended the government's decision to revoke public sector appointments made after December 7, 2024.

This action follows a directive from Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, instructing all heads of government institutions to annul such appointments.

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV's Face to Face, Opare Addo emphasized the importance of adhering to established recruitment processes, which include budget approvals and systematic hiring protocols.

He criticized the previous administration for making last-minute appointments without ensuring the necessary budgetary provisions, stating that such actions unfairly burden the incoming government.
