The Minister of Health, , has shared the circumstances that led to his decision to name his youngest son after the late Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, former Minister of Defence.
According to him, Dr Omane Boamah was always readily available to assist and support him, offering help in various ways, including words of wisdom that guided him on his political journey.
Reflecting on the profound impact Dr Omane Boamah had on his life throughout their 12-year relationship, Akandoh, in a Facebook post on Saturday, August 16, 2025, said that this influence led him to name his son after the late minister, while paying tribute to his memory. "Dr Kofi Omane Boamah was my consultant in more ways than one - always ready to review a speech, refine a policy idea, or offer quiet wisdom when the noise of politics grew loud.
He never withheld his brilliance, and never let me walk alone. "Indeed, Dr Omane Boamah made such a mark in my life that 12 years ago, my wife and I decided to name our youngest son after him - Kofi Omane Boamah.
