Police have reportedly foiled an armed robbery attempt at MRB Rural Bank in Winneba in the early hours of Friday, August 15, 2025.
Security systems at the bank went off around 1:00 AM, drawing a local patrol to the scene.
Officers reportedly came under gunfire from the suspects as they tried to access the vault.
Following a brief exchange of shots, the robbers fled, leaving behind a pump-action shotgun, an empty cartridge, and tools intended for the break-in.
