Businessman and economic policy analyst Senyo Hosi has proposed measures to regulate government spending on travel by public officials.
He suggested that government officials should be limited to economy class for short-distance flights. "You can't be flying from here to Nigeria, which is just 45 minutes, in business class.
Why should a minister pay $1,000 for a one-hour flight when the same trip costs $300?" he questioned.
The analyst further suggested consolidating travel rewards for public officials: "Today, when a public official travels, the miles are theirs.
