Inusah Fuseini, the former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, has stated that the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Ernest Yaw Kumi, downplayed the seriousness of his defiance of a High Court order, an action that ultimately led to his conviction for contempt of court.

The case against Ernest Yaw Kumi stems from a ruling by the High Court in Koforidua, which placed an interim injunction on his swearing-in as a legislator due to an ongoing legal challenge against his election.

Despite the court's explicit order, Ernest Kumi proceeded with his swearing-in, a move that resulted in his conviction.

Speaking on The Big Issue on Channel One TV, Inusah Fuseini stated that Ernest Yaw Kumi failed to fully consider the consequences of his actions.
