The Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has disclosed that Euroget De-Invest, the contractors responsible for the Afari (Kumasi) Military Hospital, have been directed to submit all outstanding financial, legal, and technical issues to the Defence Ministry.

This follows a meeting between the Ministry and the contractors on Wednesday, 19th February 2025, aimed at resolving the bottlenecks that have delayed the project for over six years.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, 20th February, Dr Boamah reiterated the government's commitment to completing the long-delayed hospital and ensuring it becomes operational by September this year. "Following our visit to the Afari (Kumasi) Military Hospital last week and our further engagement with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, I promised to complete the hospital and begin its operations in September this year," he stated.

He emphasised that President John Dramani Mahama's initial vision was for the hospital to be completed by 2018.
