The Osu Kinkawe Dzaase has firmly dismissed Bernard Botchway's, also known as Nortse Nii Nortey Owuo IV's, claims that he is the Osu Mantse.
In a statement issued on February 15, 2025, the recognized kingmakers of the Osu Stool cautioned government officials, diplomats, and the public against engaging with Botchway in any official capacity as Osu Mantse, as the legitimate authority has not installed him.
The Dzaase emphasized that the rightful occupant of the Osu Stool remains Teteete Nii Nortey Owuo IV, born Nicholas Nii Nortey Owuo, a civil engineer with the Ghana Highway Authority. "He has respected the law and refrained from overstepping the restraining order placed by the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs," the statement noted.
In contrast, Bernard Botchway has continued to disregard the court's directive, which has resulted in contempt proceedings against him at the High Court in Accra.
