Ghana Cocoa Board has denied reports suggesting that the government has increased the earnings of cocoa farmers to 70% of the world market price.

The Agriculture Minister in an earlier post shared via social media said "I have reiterated government's decision to exceed the initial 60% proposal and offer cocoa farmers 70% of the world market price during the Parliamentary Contributions amidst the debt bequeath to us in the handing over notes.

Adding that "This increase is intended to motivate farmers, boost production, and further cement Ghana's standing as the world's second-largest producer of cocoa".

However, the Ghana Cocoa Board in a post shared via social media indicated that there has been no such increase.
