Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo showed impeccable mentality on Friday night, scoring a brace against Liverpool after he was racially abused by a fan on the opening weekend of the English Premier League.

The alleged abuse occurred midway through the first half when Semenyo was targeted by a fan, as he was attempting to effect a throw-in.

Rather than be rattled, the 24-year-old Black Stars striker channelled his emotions into an outstanding performance.

In the game kicking off the 2025/26 English Premier League season, Liverpool took control early on in the beautiful atmosphere created by the home fans.
