News Ghana has officially retracted a defamatory article targeting Justina Nelson, the Acting CEO of the Minerals Income & Investment Fund (MIIF), and issued an unreserved apology for any reputational harm caused.
The online news portal had previously published an article titled "US$60M Scandal Hits Ghana's Mining Sector," which contained unsubstantiated allegations against MIIF and its newly appointed CEO.
After conducting a review, News Ghana acknowledged that its claims were inaccurate and misleading. "Our reporting did not accurately convey the facts and may have presented an unbalanced account of her actions and motivations," the portal stated. "We regret any harm or distress this story has caused Ms.
Nelson." Justina Nelson has been the subject of several politically charged and unfounded reports by various Ghanaian media outlets.
