The opposition (NPP) has shared details of the hospital taking care of former Minister of Finance, , following the accusation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor that the former minister is claiming to be seeking medical care to escape justice.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, February 13, 2025, the National Organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), slammed Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng for claiming that Ofori-Atta is telling lies about receiving medical treatment in the US.
He indicated that the lawyers of Ofori-Atta gave details of the hospital where Ofori-Atta is receiving treatment, which could be easily verified. "On February 7, 2025, in a reply to the Special Prosecutor's letter of February 5, Mr Ofori-Atta's lawyer stated, 'Please find the attached document indicating that our client is receiving attention at the Mayo Clinic in the US.
It outlines his appointment and suggests a date after March when our client may be able to return to Ghana.' "A date after March?
