Lawyer Evans Amankwa has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama has a strong track record of prosecuting government officials under his administration, unlike the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana monitored by MyNewsGH, he emphasized that Mahama's government demonstrated a commitment to fighting corruption by holding its own appointees accountable.

Amankwa argued that the NPP lacks the moral authority to speak on corruption, stating that Mahama, during his presidency, did not shield any of his officials from prosecution.

He referenced the case of Abuga Pele, a former National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), who was sentenced to prison for causing financial loss to the state.
