New York Red Bulls midfielder Ronald Donkor feels Ghanaian players in the Major League Soccer have been ignored by the technical team of the national team.  The 20-year-old midfield dynamo has been one of the best Ghanaian players in the league this season, making 12 appearances and delivering two assists for New York Red Bulls.

Both assists came in the comeback win against New England Revolution, earning him a place in the MLS Team of the Week.

Donkor, who joined the MLS outfit from Guidars FC in Mali, made a cameo in the final against LA Galaxy in 2024 but became a mainstay in the team this season. "It is not easy to play in the MLS, especially when you are from Africa.

It is really hard to get the chance but I am always ready and working hard to get there.
