The Effutu municipality is grappling with a severe cholera outbreak, with 412 reported cases and three confirmed deaths.
The crisis has put immense pressure on health facilities in the area, including the Winneba Municipal Hospital, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Clinic, and the Winneba Health Centre, which are struggling to cope with the influx of patients.
Raising the issue in Parliament, Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin called for immediate government intervention to prevent further loss of life. "Mr Speaker, it has been reported that 412 cases of outbreak of cholera in Effutu municipality have claimed three lives.
Currently, we have the affected in the Winneba Municipal Hospital, the UEW Clinic and the Winneba Health Centre.
