Ghanaian musician Sista Afia has expressed her frustration over what she describes as consistent snubbing by the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), despite her hard work and contributions to the industry. Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz on February 3, the songstress recalled her first major disappointment in 2017 when her song Jeje featuring Shatta Wale failed to secure a nomination.
Her breakthrough moment at the TGMAs came in 2021 when she received nominations for Corner Corner featuring Kelvyn Boy and Weather featuring Medikal.
However, her subsequent releases, including Asuoden, were overlooked, prompting her to question the fairness of the selection process."I haven't been satisfied with the few TGMA nominations I received.
When I released Jeje, I didn't get any nomination even though the song was big until I dropped Corner Corner ft Kelvyn Boy and Weather ft Medikal in 2021," she stated.
