The National Tripartite Committee has begun negotiations to determine the minimum wage and base pay for the 2025 fiscal year.
Comprising representatives from the government, employers, and organised labour, the negotiations for the minimum wage commenced on Monday.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu "Negotiations for base pay (for public sector salaries) will follow that of the minimum wage," a statement signed by the Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said.
According to the statement, negotiations for both the minimum wage and the base pay for the 2025 financial year are behind schedule as they were expected to be completed by the end of April 2024, per the Public Financial Management Act.
