Grace Minta of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) has clinched gold in the Women's 80kgevent of the ongoing 2024 World Armwrestling Champion­ship in Moldova. Her historic feat plunged the packed arena into cheers as the 'Africa for Africa' teammember Minta defeated her compatriots from Sweden, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey and others in a nail-biting match that went into overtime. Gaining her first global exper­ince at the 2023 World Combat Games in Saudi Arabia, Ms Mint­ahsaid she had dominated Africa since 2019, winning the African championship back-to-back and recently, a double gold at the 2023 African Games.
