The Minister-designate for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam George, has refused to withdraw his comments alleging that former President 's government stole from the public despite its promise to protect the national purse.
The nominee, who has faced over 100 questions from the Minority and has been confronted with videos, audio recordings, and social media posts by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, insists he stands by his remarks.
He maintained that his comments were not inappropriate and that under no circumstances would he retract them.
The remarks, made in a 2024 interview with GHOne Television, stated, "The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government did not steal from the purse; they stole the purse itself." When asked during the vetting whether he still stood by his statement, he firmly answered yes, further requesting time to submit over 700 scandals as evidence to support his claims.
