The Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology-designate, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed has pledged to reform the waste management sector by breaking the monopoly currently held by a few players.
During his vetting at Parliament, Murtala shared his vision for a more inclusive and locally driven approach to waste management, which he believes will create more job opportunities for Ghanaians. "I intend to demonopolize the management of waste in this country and engage local authorities and SMEs," Muhammed said, emphasizing that this approach will empower local communities and enhance job creation.
