The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, has formally discontinued an appeal in the controversial ambulance case against Finance Minister and former Majority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and businessman Richard Jakpa.
A notice issued by the Attorney-General's chambers on Thursday, January 23, 2025, confirmed that all further proceedings in the matter had been abandoned.
This decision follows a ruling by the Court of Appeal, which acquitted and discharged Dr Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa in a 2:1 majority decision.
The court overturned an earlier order by the trial court that had required the two to open their defence.
