Chairman of Parliament's Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor, has called on activist and lawyer Oliver Barker-Vormawor to issue a full and unreserved apology following his controversial remarks about the committee.

This demand comes after Barker-Vormawor failed to provide evidence to support his claims that members of the committee accept bribes before vetting nominees.

His appearance before Parliament was meant to substantiate his allegations, but when pressed, neither he nor his lawyer could provide any proof.

Acknowledging the gravity of his comments, Barker-Vormawor admitted that his remarks were inappropriate and lacked a factual basis. "Our committee plays a crucial role in governance, and we will not tolerate baseless allegations that undermine our integrity," Bernard Ahiafor stated, extending an opportunity for him to retract his claims and apologize.
