Togbe Afede XIV (born James Akpo), the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State in the Volta Region, has shared an unpleasant experience he and other chiefs from the region endured during a visit to the Jubilee House, the seat of government, in 2020.

The former President of the National House of Chiefs, addressing a durbar held in honor of former President as part of his thank-you tour of the Volta Region on Friday, January 24, 2025, recounted how he and the other chiefs were humiliated at the Presidency. "I recall that in 2020, when Volta felt under siege from soldiers sent from Accra in the run-up to the election, a good number of us from the Volta Regional House of Chiefs came together and visited the then-President, Nana Akufo-Addo, to appeal for mercy on our people.

Sadly, our minister [Archibald Letsa] was there, together with one of our own sons, .

They denigrated us and embarrassed us as chiefs.
