Minister of Interior-designate, , has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the issue of prison overcrowding in Ghana.
During his vetting before 's Appointments Committee, Muntaka highlighted the importance of leveraging the "Justice for All" initiative as a key strategy in decongesting the country's prisons. "The 'Justice for All' project was one that was so helpful, where judges moved into the prisons and dealt with remand cases, expediting their resolution," Mubarak said.
He emphasised the need for renewed collaboration with the Attorney General and the Chief Justice to fully utilize this initiative, which has proven effective in handling prolonged remand cases and ensuring timely justice.
In addition to expediting justice, Mubarak stressed the need for a multi-pronged approach to improve conditions in Ghana's prisons.
