The Ghana National Union of Technical Students (GNUTS) has praised the government's decision to allocate GHS 345 million towards funding free tuition for all Level 100 students in public tertiary institutions.
The Union believes that this initiative will significantly alleviate the financial burdens students face, while ensuring equal opportunities for all, regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds.
The announcement was made by Tamale South Member of Parliament and Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, during his vetting by the Appointments Committee in Parliament on January 20, 2025.
He highlighted that the policy will greatly enhance access to tertiary education for many students across the country, making higher learning more accessible to a wider population.
